When we started construction in late 2014 on our Clinton Global Initiative Commitment to Action to build the first sustainably-designed, technology-driven primary school in Zambia, the goal was ambitious and required the full support of the SCALEAfrica community.
As we wrap up the year, we're incredibly pleased to announce that the Phase 1 build is done and Vinza School is slated to open on Jan 11, 2016. Because of your support, 320 students at Vinza are learning inside a classroom for the first time in their lives and will have the 21st century tools to survive and thrive.
We're now focused on planning for Phase 2, to include five more classrooms, community space and sanitation. This will allow 250 more students space in the safe, healthy classrooms.
If you haven't yet donated to SCALEAfrica in 2015, we hope you'll do so now and help us launch Phase 2 of construction on our CGI commitment.
In the tremendous effort to complete Vinza, we didn't host our annual summer rooftop event this year. Rest assured, it's on in 2016 and will be updating you on upcoming events. We look forward to seeing you all soon!
Thank you for your continued support of SCALEAfrica and the communities we serve in Zambia. We hope you have a peaceful and joyous New Year!
