This was a fun project for us and one that is making a big difference in Mfuwe. Here, we collaborated with a global tech company that chooses to remain anonymous. In partnership with the company and the help of EZ-Up, we designed and constructed 25 large mobile tents- reusing canvas material from a national billboard ad campaign. These tents were distributed throughout the South Luangwa Valley in 2011. Because of an utter lack of classroom space in this region, many classes are being taught outside, only to be washed out in the rains or cancelled in the heat. The tents now act as temporary classrooms, allowing hundreds of children to consistently attend school while SCALEAfrica works to create permanent solutions.
